This stunning art deco office building was built in 1906 as the head office for the Anchor Line Shipping Company, an ocean liner company that operated from 1838 until they merged with Cunard in 1960. They operated cruise liners between Glasgow, Southampton, New York, India and the Far East. The façade details are stunning and in remarkably good condition following years of neglect including a glazed façade embedded with nautical emblems, seaweed and shell details. Many of the principal rooms were designed with the opulence of an ocean liner, all of which detail is being preserved and incorporated into the aparthotel scheme.
